  2. Excellent article. It is probably worth mentioning that Gerdes was running against vouchers but flipped his position during the primary – presumably to win favor with Abbott. Additionally, his wife is an attorney with her family’s gun company – one would think it is a conflict of interest but alas, politics. And rest assured we cannot get any meaningful gun legislation passed as long as those who are supposed to represent our interests have not only NRA contributions but it’s literally the family business. It is imperative we vote for common sense laws across the board. As a criminal justice professional with a retired LEO spouse and a child in private school, I consider myself conservative, moderate and liberal, depending upon the issue. That said, VENABLE has my vote on November 5th. I hope more who don’t align with either party can see she is our BEST choice.
